After a 4 hour drive (which seemed like forever), we were so relieved to finally arrive at this little piece of paradise. The pictures do not do this place justice - it is just absolutely incredible. Off the beaten path and with only one other house to the left far, it's peaceful and beautiful. Being a family who loves nature and being outdoors, we looked for a place to vacation that wasn't in them middle of a beach strip and somewhere we could relax. There are heron, pelicans and seagulls flying around outside on the dock and wetland behind the house.

The majority of our first day of vacation was overcast and rainy. Yep - rainy. Not a drop of sunshine until about 6 PM. Last night we planned this wonderful day of going to the beach in the morning and kayaking in the sound in the afternoon. You know what they say - if you want to make God laugh, tell Him your plans. Well, He had other plans but I loved the alternative. We were up early and we spent about 2 hours outside on the dock crabbing with Liv, Tim and my mom. We also enjoyed walking around the house discovering crabs, shells and heron. Ethan in particular loved the kayaks and collecting items in his bucket, including small crabs. He had no fear in picking them up.

We ended the day with a Mexican themed dinner made by Liv and Tim. We are all tired from the day but have high hopes for tomorrow to be sunny ... God, wanna help us out?
