Today we took a trip to the outskirts of Atlanta to visit my only living grandparent, my dad's mother, granny Ramborger. She lives with my uncle Ken and aunt Cora, is 87, and bedridden from breaking both her hips within the past 5 years. We wanted her to have the chance to meet Ethan and to also be able to see us as well. My mom and dad, Chris, Ethan and I and Olivia and Tim all were there and it was a very nice visit. Here are some highlights from the day:
It was Ethan's first long trip so I knew we would have to stop and feed him for his mid-morning feeding. Of course, my mom who is OBSESSED with Starbucks, had to stop for a coffee break in Commerce, GA. Ethan needed his sweet potato and milk break!
It was hot and humid out, so we had to keep little man cool with a damp rag! He didn't complain!
The look on my granny's face when she saw Ethan was priceless. You could tell she was so excited to finally meet her 8th great-grandchild! He was immediately "talkative" and sweet with her. She was emotional when she got to hold him one last time before we left and it really filled my heart with joy to see her so happy. She just snuggled with him and gave him lots of kisses.
Uncle Ken and Aunt Cora have spent A LOT of time working on their yard and are extremely proud of it. Ken loves to show all of his hard work to visitors that come by and talks endlessly about where each plant came from and the variations. They've got a koi pond, a greenhouse for orchids, and just about every tree and flower imaginable. It's pretty amazing out there - they really should start charging an entrance fee!
